Sesame Cookies

My boss was kind to share this recipe. This recipe is originally from Metropolitan Cookbook which I adapted.
Sesame Cookies
Sesame Seeds
1/2 cup - toasted, ground to powder
      2 tbsps  - toasted
All Purpose Flour - 1.5 cups
Brown Sugar - 3/4 cup (original recipe calls for white sugar)
Vanilla Extract - 1 tsp
Cardamom Powder - 1/2 tsp (not in original recipe)
Baking Soda - 1/2 tsp
Baking Powder - 3/4 tsp
Butter, softened - 1 cup (I realized it didn't need so much butter, next time I plan to try with 3/4 cup coconut oil)
Salt -1/2 tsp (original recipe calls for 1 tsp kosher salt)
Egg - 1

Stir together ground sesame seeds, flour, baking powder, baking soda, cardamom powder, whole toasted sesame seeds and salt.
In another bowl, stir egg and vanilla well.
Mix butter until creamy in a large bowl until creamy. Add sugar and beat well.
Add egg mixture beating at low speed. I didn't use electric mixer, did it manually with hand
Add flour mixture slowly in batched and mix well until blended.
On a parchment paper or greased baking sheet, drop approximately a tablespoon or 2 sized cookie dough, make sure you leave enough space between each cookie dough.
Bake at 350 F for around 18 minutes.
Enjoy!
