Ingredients
Tamarind - 1 small lemon size
Red Chilli - 2 nos
Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
Rasam powder - 2 tsp
Red Gram Dal - 1/2 cup boiled
Garlic - 4 nos
Tomato - 1 no
Salt - as per taste
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves
Method
1) In a vessel, add tamarind and water and gather tamarind extract.
2) To this, add chopped tomatoes and garlic.
3) Boil this liquid till the raw flavor of tamarind juice disappears.
4) Now add pepper powder, rasam powder and salt.
5) Boil it for 2 mins and then add boiled Red Gram Dal to it.
6) Add Coriander leaves and let it boil for 5-7 mins.
7) Prepare tadka - by heating oil in a pan, add red chillis, mustard and cumin seeds and curry leaves, when mustard starts popping, switch off the heat and add it to the rasam vessel.
8) Switch of the heat for rasam mixture and it is ready to serve.
